After enjoying the story, The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch, Maple Class have been developing their D.T. skills by creating their own picnic lunch. They began by tasting a range of fruits, vegetables and breads … and even some English Mustard to see if they found it as disgusting as the seagulls in the story did. Surprisingly, the majority of children were begging Mrs Shale for more!
Following this, they planned their lunch. Then they spread, grated and cut ingredients to make their sandwich. Finally, they made a fruit salad and even baked biscuits with Emma, our cook.
A fantastic time was had by all, even though the weather caused us to have an indoor picnic.
